Well, That Was Lame [Kathryn Jean Lopez]
I got my text message at 4:28. It didn't even
pretend to be from Senator Obama, either, which was doubly lame. I
had received my official press release from the old, non-texting
dude's campaign reacting to the news at 2:24; I had received the
statement even earlier, though, at 1:49 from Ben Porritt, who
really doesn't sleep and should probably get a raise (unlike
the guy on the Obama campaign who sent out 4:28 A.M. text messages .
If there is a message to the American people in any of the last 12
hours or so, it is: people who work on campaigns don't really have
lives. Get some sleep dudes. I did. And I knew the news when I went
to bed and it didn't change between then and now.
